Royal Mail Strike Action - 26th & 31st August and 8th & 9th September - Delays To Postage

The Communication Workers Union representing Royal Mail workers has called on it's members to go on strike on the 26th and 31st of August and again on the 8th and 9th of September 2022.

This is expected to cause significant delays around those dates, as a result the following changes are having to be made to minimise problems with orders being lost or significantly delayed in transit with Royal Mail.

The economy First Class postage service has been disabled and First Class Signed For is the only option available (UK/Domestic orders only) and will not be reinstated until the 13th of September at the earliest.

The Lees Precision Engineering eBay store is being placed on time away settings in the run up to the first strike dates and then will stop accepting orders during, website orders will be accepted as normal. It will be placed on time away settings during the second strike dates.

Orders placed on the 24th of August through to 1st of September will not be posted until the 2nd of September, the choice of the first two strike dates with a bank holiday weekend in the middle will cause the most disruption

No orders will be posted on the 7th of September until 13th of September.

International postage services will be under review and more countries may only have the priority tracked airmail service available.

Please note that for the purposes of working out delivery times the strike dates will not be counted as working days, no claims will be accepted for orders that are delayed directly as a result of the strike dates (late delivery or perceived late delivery).
